Lara Warman is a senior staff software engineer and artist with two decades of experience building technology, now focused on what becomes possible when highly specific software can be built for everyday life.
Lara started coding when the world (rightfully) told her to stop trying to be a photographer by opening a car door into her path while she was riding her bicycle. Recovery gave her the time to discover a love of code and she made her way to Parsons The New School for Design to earn her MFA in Design + Technology. There she focused on the relationship between memory, music, and the digital world. Since then, she’s found her computational home in data engineering where she specializes in large-scale migrations and complex systems problems. As AI collapsed the time and cost required to build software, Lara has been able to reboot her creative practice, now focusing on hyper-specific custom apps and systems to support her family’s life both routine and playful. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and two young children.
