Núria Albó Canals, AI Engineer and Project Manager at INECO (Spain’s premier mobility engineering firm under the Ministry of Transport), is reframing AI and data not as tools—but as fundamental infrastructures for society, just like energy or telecoms. Speaking at Spain’s 2nd National Meeting of Women in Computer Engineering, she argued that to build resilient digital mobility, we must design AI that’s as reliable, regulated, and universal as traditional infrastructure

Her insights spark provocative questions for leaders and innovators:

  • How do we build AI systems that don’t just support mobility but become its backbone?
  • What does it mean to treat data and AI with the same rigor, regulation, and sustainability as roads, rails, or power grids?
  • How can regulated frameworks like AI Sandboxes and national strategies help make AI accessible and trustworthy for all?

This keynote invites us to see AI in mobility not as a luxury, but as a public good — foundational, equitable, and engineered for the long haul.
